      <image:title>Our approach - Resource Development</image:title>
      <image:caption>The member organsiations of NACBO are national authorities in supporting and resourcing the leadership skills of people with disability and families.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5bf36a1870e80242b101f6f8/1551673286037-WPFQ3NI353CHI8QYXRDZ/_TM16566.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our approach - Learning and educating</image:title>
      <image:caption>NACBO is committed to giving people with disability and their families an opportunity to share their wisdom. Telling real-life stories by a variety of methods that illustrate people with disability living valued, ordinary and inclusive lives is one of the most potent strategies for raising people’s expectations and building the motivation and confidence to act.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5bf36a1870e80242b101f6f8/1551673308597-H3HTR16NZ2XUR25NKLIQ/Belonging+MAtters+-+6+people.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our approach - Leadership Development</image:title>
      <image:caption>Leadership development is both direct through attending leadership development courses and workshops but also indirect through being asked to present, write, lobby and collaborate on projects. The NDIS requires a huge change and change requires leadership.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5bf36a1870e80242b101f6f8/1551674110160-YROZ8CNJBKAHYAYVK05E/CROPPED%2BFamily%2Bleadership%2Bweekend.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our approach - Connecting</image:title>
      <image:caption>We provide mentoring to individuals and families, to identify their needs, work with them to implement their plans and work out what resources people need ‘after the workshop’. It’s about empowering people to do this for themselves; not about someone else doing it for them in the long term – this is a guiding, assisting, ‘walking with’ role.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5bf36a1870e80242b101f6f8/1551673389343-2GE03OY2DO4DR3YIG233/Fam+Adv.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our approach - Leadership Networks</image:title>
      <image:caption>The agencies of NACBO are connected to their own local networks of people with disabilities, their families, friends, allies, academics and politicians. These networks ensure we are informed, engaged and ready to connect with the disability and broader communities.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5bf36a1870e80242b101f6f8/1551673427429-61N5CGZ5IET80Z7I9WJV/_TM29187.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our approach - Outcomes focus</image:title>
      <image:caption>The Alliance has a strong focus on assisting individuals to achieve outcomes. Examples include short term outcomes such as gaining knowledge and skills, and longer term outcomes such as finding a job, studying, moving into a home of their own, becoming a member of a club or association, and developing civic and other roles.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>Our approach - Documenting outcomes</image:title>
      <image:caption>NACBO has the ability to gather qualitative and quantitative evidence of outcomes at a local and national level. Ongoing evaluation further informs the development of the model, and the learnings are documented and shared.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - NACBO has demonstrated through its combined experience that face-to-face contact, timely and tailored follow-up consultations are potent means of raising expectations and building the motivation and confidence of people to pursue genuine social inclusion. Supporting and resourcing the leadership skills of people with disability and families enables them to then support and resource others.</image:title>
      <image:caption>A circular model that represents NACBO’s approach to building capacity of people with disability and the communities they live in. At it’s core is social and economic participation and it has three equally sized sections surrounding it that show how NACBO delivers this. The first is education with the dot points of: groups, workshops, conferences, online and resource development. The second is Follow Up, with the bullet points of: Individuals, families/carers, circles of support, peer led groups and community projects. The third is Leadership, with the dot points: peer to peer, people with disability, families/carers and co-design. There are arrows showing the flow from one section to the next with ‘outcomes’ connections each of the sections, showing that outcomes are measured and reportable.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Education</image:title>
      <image:caption>NACBO has extensive experience organising events, from small group workshops through to large conferences. Building the confidence, skills and knowledge of people with disability, their families and communities is at the core of our work.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Learning and educating</image:title>
      <image:caption>NACBO is committed to giving people with disability and their families an opportunity to share their wisdom. Telling real-life stories by a variety of methods that illustrate people with disability living valued, ordinary and inclusive lives is one of the most potent strategies for raising people’s expectations and building the motivation and confidence to act.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Leadership Development</image:title>
      <image:caption>Leadership development is both direct through attending leadership development courses and workshops but also indirect through being asked to present, write, lobby and collaborate on projects. The NDIS requires a huge change and change requires leadership.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Connecting</image:title>
      <image:caption>We provide mentoring to individuals and families, to identify their needs, work with them to implement their plans and work out what resources people need ‘after the workshop’. It’s about empowering people to do this for themselves; not about someone else doing it for them in the long term – this is a guiding, assisting, ‘walking with’ role.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Leadership Networks</image:title>
      <image:caption>The agencies of NACBO are connected to their own local networks of people with disabilities, their families, friends, allies, academics and politicians. These networks ensure we are informed, engaged and ready to connect with the disability and broader communities.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Outcomes focus</image:title>
      <image:caption>The Alliance has a strong focus on assisting individuals to achieve outcomes. Examples include short term outcomes such as gaining knowledge and skills, and longer term outcomes such as finding a job, studying, moving into a home of their own, becoming a member of a club or association, and developing civic and other roles.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What we do - Documenting outcomes</image:title>
      <image:caption>NACBO has the ability to gather qualitative and quantitative evidence of outcomes at a local and national level. Ongoing evaluation further informs the development of the model, and the learnings are documented and shared.</image:caption>
